Tasks to be done for 120kV source

We are testing the beam dynamics of the LIS if the ion beam extraction potential is raised to 120kV. Simulations show that space-charge is much less important at this energy. In addition some modifications to the extraction geometry give an improved beam emittance from the source.

Present Status

Source is up to 115kV (with -10kV on puller). Measurements have been made after the source and after the ion beam focusing, with good results. The first results indicate a definite improvement over 60kV. The source has held 120kV for a very short time.
First shots were taken with the current captured in a 40 mm aperture cup, at 80kV (source) and -10kV (puller).
